Firefighter Spot

Jan 31, 2014 @ 1:35am – 404 Ash St
Structural collapse @ 9:01 and 9:41
A massive fire destroyed a 3 storey “walk up” apartment building. The fire appeared to have started in the lobby and spread to a 2nd floor suite. Crews tried to contain the fire, but the old building had no sprinklers and it took hold and crews had to fight the fire from the outside. Several hose lines and 2 aerial ladders were used to pour water into the building. All available firefighters and equipment responded to the blaze as well as a ladder truck from Delta and 5 rigs from Burnaby. No injuries were reported and the cause is under investigation.
