Another Year in Yosemite

The only topic of conversation in the park is fire. And for good reason. This fire is BIG. And growing rapidly. There’s not a one of us unaffected by it. Even more so with the latest news.

Tioga Road is closing today (8/28/2013) due to the Rim Fire. And is expected to be closed at least through Labor Day Weekend. No, the fire isn’t that far into the park yet. Hot Shot crews will be clearing trees and other fuel in preventative fire suppression efforts along the roadway between Crane Flat and White Wolf (the westernmost portion of the roadway). The fire is getting closer and closer though.
